• Government Initiative
The Government has set targets for employers to qualify the workforce and increase the skills of individuals working in industry across the United Kingdom.
To help employers achieve this objective, the Government has set aside funding through the Local Skills Councils (LSC) and Train to Gain, to provide these funds to recognised Training Organisations, Colleges and Universities which carry out National Vocational Qualifications.
As a Training Company we have a partnership agreement with various University’s who are funding organisations and through these partnerships we are able to assist employers in qualifying their workforce while receiving funding to offset the costs normally associated with this type of training / qualification.
• What is required to gain funding
Where a company wishes to take advantage of free funding we simply complete a employer and candidate registration pack at the company’s premises, we then take these registration forms into the University’s who then register each candidate which then secures the funding for their qualification.
• What is involved in achieving a NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations
NVQ qualifications are aimed at people at work who are able to carry out a job competently but have no formal qualifications in Plant Operations.
The NVQ is based on observations of the candidate at work and the gathering of evidence to meet with National Occupational Standards.
The process is very straight forward and because it is based on the candidate doing their job it minimises disruption to work or production unlike being sent on training courses away from work.
The process involves the following:
- An induction to brief the candidate on what is required of them and how we gather information to support their qualification.
- An assessment plan relating to the means by which we assess people at work.
- The building of their portfolio by the assessor and candidate of the evidence produced.
• What is the benefit to the Candidate and to the Company
All people want to feel valued in what they do, to bring their skills into a workplace without any personal recognition can be demoralising and in the long term unproductive. For any individual to be given the opportunity to gain both an industry and educationally recognised qualification can mean a great deal on a personal level.
For the employer it demonstrates your commitment in meeting Government initiatives in training and development and in qualifying your workforce, it helps motivate your employees, it demonstrates competence at work as required under Health and Safety Laws and Regulations and by being able to access funding for your employees qualifications it removes significant costs normally associated with the training of any workforce.
