Introduction

This one day Health and Safety Awareness Course is intended to develop an understanding of construction safety for various occupations working in the industry and can be tailored to meet delegates specific requirements.

For whom the Course is Intended
Construction company personnel (all occupations open to registration), who wish to register under the scheme.

Course Aims
To raise the health and safety awareness of the full range of occupations working within the construction industry, also to highlight the benefits of the CSCS Scheme to both employers and employees.

Objectives
At the end of the course delegates will understand:-

  • The benefits of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme;
  • Their duties/responsibilities under the current legislation;
  • How and why the construction industry continues to have a poor accident record; and how they can contribute to making the industry a safer place to work;
  • Why employers need to set up safe systems of work; and why employees need to follow these systems and obey site rules;
  • That health and welfare issues are as important as safety.  This will be emphasised as each of the course topics are addressed.
