Overview
This one day course in Emergency First Aid has been developed for those who are working in all industry sectors. The aim of this course is to provide these persons with a sound knowledge and understanding of First Aid procedures.
Benefits to your organisation
Successful delegates will receive an HSE recognised First Aid Appointed Person certificate, valid for a period of 3 years. This training meets the requirements laid down in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Eligibility
In order to receive the First Aid Appointed Person certificate students must be 16 years of age at the time they start the course. However, any student less than 16 years of age may receive an attendance certificate that is neither approved nor recognised by the HSE.

The content of the course includes information and training in:
- Session 1 First Aid in the Workplace
- Session 2 Responsibilities of the Appointed Person
- Session 3 Action in an Emergency
- Session 4 Primary & Secondary Assessment
- Session 5 Principals of Resuscitation
- Session 6 Airway Obstruction
- Session 7 Wounds and Bleeding
- Session 8 Written and Practical Assessment
